Metelec Services is proud to announce its latest project win – a major nationwide contract for the design, installation and maintenance of padel courts across the UK.
This large-scale contract positions Metelec as a key player in the development of sports infrastructure for one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.
With a well-established reputation for delivering high-quality electrical, mechanical, and plumbing solutions across the sports and recreation sector, this exciting new venture strengthens Metelec’s standing in complex, performance-driven environments.

What is Padel?
Padel is a rapidly growing racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Played in doubles on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, the sport is fast-paced, easy to pick up, and hugely enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
Originally popularised in Spain and South America, padel has become a global phenomenon with:
- Over 25 million players in more than 90 countries
- A compound annual growth rate of over 15% globally
- Over 6,000 padel clubs in Europe, and rising fast
- A prediction that the UK will see over 400 padel courts by 2026, quadrupling the current number
As the sport continues to surge in popularity, demand for professionally built, sustainable, and well-maintained padel court facilities is increasing across leisure centres, private clubs, and commercial venues.

A Turnkey Solution from Metelec
The new contract will see Metelec Services delivering a turnkey solution, including:
- Design of each facility tailored to client needs and site specifics
- Installation of advanced lighting, power, mechanical and plumbing infrastructure
- Ongoing maintenance, ensuring facilities stay in top condition long after handover
This project brings together every strength of Metelec’s service model – delivering from project inception through to completion and beyond, under a single trusted provider.
“This is an incredibly exciting win for the company,” said Oliver Moores, Director of Metelec Services. “Padel is experiencing phenomenal growth, and to be part of shaping its future in the UK is something we’re proud to take on.”
Fellow Director Jason Moores added:
“We’ve spent years developing our capability in the sports and recreation space, and this project is a natural next step. It brings together everything we do best – design, installation and maintenance – and we can’t wait to see the courts start taking shape.”
Driving Growth with Excellence
Metelec’s involvement in this nationwide rollout reinforces its status as a forward-thinking MEP contractor, capable of delivering not just complex technical work, but also scalable, strategic infrastructure aligned with modern lifestyle trends.
As padel continues to grow across the UK, Metelec Services is ready to meet the demand—one court at a time.
