There are plenty of ways to measure the scale of a luxury residential project. You could look at the size of the property, the number of rooms or the facilities going into it. In Metelec Services’ case, you could measure it in miles of cable.

At Woodrising, approximately seven miles of electrical cable are being installed as part of a major luxury residential transformation. That figure gives a good sense of how big the project is.

But there is a lot more to Woodrising than an impressive cable count.

Woodrising is the newest project in Metelec’s growing luxury residential portfolio. It is a setting where electrical and mechanical services have to be carefully built into an ambitious architectural and interior vision.

Metelec is working alongside Knights Developments, with Samantha Bartlett leading the interior design, as the property is transformed into an exceptional private residence.

When the project was first showcased, the site was very much in its pre-build state. It looked nothing like the luxury home it is set to become, and that is what made the early imagery so interesting.

The finished home exists in the plans long before it exists as a building.

Being involved from these early stages matters to Metelec. Luxury residential work involves much more than installing services once the design is signed off. Electrical and mechanical infrastructure has to be planned around the architecture, the interior spaces, the technology, the lighting, and the comfort and lifestyle needs of the finished property.

Woodrising also shows the experience Metelec already has in this field. The company has delivered similar high-end residential projects in the surrounding area, and knows what it takes to work on properties of this size and standard of finish.

The scale here is significant. The property is around 15,000 sq ft and is planned to include an indoor swimming pool, a massage and reformer studio, a sauna and steam room, and a series of high-end living spaces.

All of this makes for an electrical and mechanical brief with a wide range of requirements. It is exactly the kind of project where Metelec’s Design. Install. Maintain. approach comes into its own.

Woodrising is still in progress, which makes it an exciting one to follow.

The seven miles of cable are only part of the story. What matters is what all that infrastructure will deliver: a home where technology, comfort, performance and design work together almost invisibly.
